1. What is NatWest RugbyForce?

NatWest RugbyForce is a nationwide programme that helps grassroots rugby clubs throughout Wales attract new members, update facilities and secure the future of grassroots rugby.

 

2. Who can enter NatWest RugbyForce?

Any rugby club registered with the Wales Rugby Union can enter.

NB: NatWest RugbyForce is not run in conjunction with the RFU

 

3. What is NatWest RugbyForce weekend?

NatWest RugbyForce weekend provides an opportunity to welcome club members, volunteers and local businesses from the community for a weekend of DIY and activities to both enhance and showcase your club.

 

4. When is NatWest RugbyForce weekend?

This year the event will take place on the 11th and 12th of August.

 

5. Do we have to hold our NatWest RugbyForce weekend on the 11th and 12th August?

No, we appreciate that the dates may not work for everyone, so please do hold your NatWest RugbyForce weekend on a more suitable date if necessary.

 

6. When do registration’s open?

Registrations open on March 19th 2018

 

7. When do registrations close?

Registrations close on Monday 2nd July 2018

 

8. Do I have to be a NatWest customer to enter NatWest RugbyForce?

No you do not need to be a NatWest customer, but please do contact your local branch and let them know what you’re doing for NatWest RugbyForce to see if they have any staff that might be able to help out on the day!

 

9. How can I be in with a chance of receiving a NatWest RugbyForce grant?

All you need to do to be in with a chance of being awarded a NatWest RugbyForce grant is register online and fill out our simple form telling us how you’re securing the future of grassroots rugby at your club by Monday 2nd July

 

10. What grants are available if I sign up for NatWest RugbyForce?

NatWest will be awarding 60 clubs a grant of £400 to help them with the development of their club this season. NatWest will also be giving 10 exceptional clubs a larger cash grant of £1,000, two of these exceptional clubs will have the opportunity to be awarded as a ‘NatWest RugbyForce Showcase Club.’

 

11. What is a NatWest Rugby Showcase Club?

This year, two clubs will be chosen to be a ‘NatWest RugbyForce Showcase Club’. These clubs will not only be awarded a grant of £1,000, they will also get a visit from one of our two Wales rugby legends over their RugbyForce weekend, a £500 food and drinks voucher for their event, additional branded merchandise as well as a designated team to help with event support and planning.

 

12. How will clubs be selected for the grants?

The clubs who receive 10 large grants will be selected by a national judging panel consisting of representatives from NatWest. The participating clubs will be those clubs who, in the opinion of the judges, write the most suitable responses to the following questions.

 

13. What questions will we need to answer when we register?

  • What are your club’s plans for NatWest RugbyForce this year? (200 words max)
  • How will you maintain your club so that the future of your grassroots teams are secured?
  • How do you think a £1,000 grant would help your club and facilities?
  • Describe in 150 words why you think your club deserves to be this year’s “NatWest RugbyForce Showcase Club”

 

14. Who will receive a supporter pack?

All clubs that sign up for NatWest RugbyForce will receive a supporter pack

 

15. What will we receive in the supporter pack?

All registered clubs will receive a NatWest RugbyForce supporter pack which includes:

  • Posters to advertise your event
  • Banners
  • T-shirts
  • Kicking tees
  • Ball bags
  • Ball pumps

 

16.  How can Rugbyforce help my club?

Natwest RugbyForce can support your club in many ways, dependent on your clubs’ requirements. Please find examples below:

  • The grants can be used to transform and update your social spaces, helping to increase footfall, generate revenue and help your club become more sustainable.
  • Professional design advice is available if you wish to use your grant to deliver a high impact refurbishment project like toilet and/or shower improvements, privacy screening or simple enhancements to the look and feel of the facilities
  • Grants can be used to make your club a safer place for both members and visitors, from goalpost safety to internal clubhouse accident prevention
  • NatWest RugbyForce can also offer advice and support to help your club increase its offering to help the growth of women and girls’ rugby
