Their past payments system had a higher transaction cost. As Graeme Cook, Chairman of the Men's Section, says:
“We should see a saving of about £2,500 a year with Pitchero. Before, it wasn’t suitable to collect payments from smaller events.”
Woking Hockey Club had first trialled Pitchero Payments for their August holiday camps and found it reduced the hours of administration for their volunteers:
“It had previously been paid into the bank account or by cheque which was a lot of man-hours reconciling payments.”
Graeme likes the reporting side of Pitchero from a club perspective and how the data can be used to organise events, after payment has been taken:
“It’s quick and easy to see who’s paid or who hasn’t, the Payment form has all the information. A person running an event can see tickets sold, the people coming and these are the menu choices.”
Would Woking Hockey Club recommend Pitchero Payments? Yes - and according to Graeme, any club can be up and running in no time at all:
“It’s a ten-minute set-up and if you have the right people there, your Pitchero Web Admin plus the Club Treasurer, they can do the bank bit of it in one go.”
